We love Sanibel Island! My family has been coming here for decades. We often come as three generations, and love how there's something to do for all ages. Here are our favorites:

Collecting shells -- Sanibel is the "World's Best Shelling Beach" (Travel & Leisure), visiting Ding Darling Nature Preserve, the Shell Museum, touring Tarpon Bay by pontoon, exploring the paddling trail by kayak, and walking on the beach-- our favorites are Lighthouse Beach and Bowman's Beach.

Sports options include tennis and pickleball, walking the nature trails and looking for wildlife on Bailey Tract, renting bikes to explore the island, playing golf, taking a yoga class, snorkeling and scuba diving.

Be sure to have breakfast at the Lighthouse Cafe and lunch at Grandma Dot's over looking the marina and yachts from around the world.

Don't miss sunsets at The Mucky Duck on Captiva. Go early and grab a table for dinner at 5 pm. We love their swordfish and shrimp!
